My 2018 X1 has been vibrating whenever I brake from highway speeds and it’s getting worse. At first it was subtle, now the whole steering wheel shakes and it’s honestly making me nervous on the E311. I took it to a tyre shop thinking it was balancing, they said the rotors were warped and quoted me for a full brake job. Then a general garage said the rotors were fine and it was a caliper issue. Two completely opposite answers in one week. A friend of mine who drives a 5 series told me to stop wasting time with general shops and find a Genuine BMW specialist in Al Nahda Sharjah instead since he had a similar problem and it turned out to be something completely different from what everyone guessed. I live nearby so that would be convenient, but I don’t want to walk into another place that just replaces parts until the noise stops. Has anyone here had brake judder on their BMW and what was the actual fix? Also curious whether it’s normal for these cars to warp rotors this early or if something else is causing it. Any real experiences would help because I’m tired of the guesswork.
